  • Eddy-Current Sensor Products Overview

The eddy current rotational speed sensor is a commonly used non-contact sensor for measuring the rotational speed of rotating machinery. It utilizes the eddy current effect to detect the position and movement of an object (usually a metal). A high-frequency electromagnetic field is generated on the surface of the metal being measured, which affects the induction coil inside the sensor, causing changes in the coil's inductance and thereby determining its rotational speed.

Function The speed sensors ECVS-2xx.xx SHx are suitable, in conjunction with
  an Aluminium pole wheel (or other conducting, non-magnetic metal) for
  generating two nominally 90° phase shifted square wave signals
  indicating the rotary speeds and the direction of rotation.
